Lady writing in a journal

We know that January can be a great time to spend reflecting on your recovery journey and what you want to focus on in the upcoming year. We also know that sometimes knowing where to begin can be a significant barrier to starting. Here are some journal prompts to give you a starting point and help guide your reflection:

  1. What went well for you/your recovery in 2024? What are all the big and small wins and milestones that you can remember. Make a list and spend some time exploring how these moments felt.

  2. What do you want to leave behind in 2024? Is there anything you can replace these things with in this upcoming year?

  3. What values do you want your actions to be guided by in 2025? How can you engage in these values in small/day-to-day and larger/long-term ways?

  4. How can you best prioritize you recovery this year? What are the barriers you struggle with most and what strategies and supports would be helpful for you to have in place moving forward?

  5. Where do you want to see yourself at by the end of this year? Let yourself envision the most ideal circumstances, no matter how far off or unrealistic it feels.
